HEALTHY LIVING: April is National Autism Acceptance Month

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA — April is National Autism Acceptance Month, highlighting the importance of accepting individuals with autism and other disabilities by helping them grow and connect with people in their community.

We had Hannah Fan, director of music education, in our ABC7 studio.

She explains the Music Education Center’s certificate programs and unique curriculum and how it serves neurodivergent students, including individuals ages 18 to 30 on the spectrum, in Southwest Florida.

The Southwest Florida Music Education Center is a not-for-profit organization serving neurodivergent young adults with a strong interest in music. Based in Naples, Florida, its mission is to create a world-class music education center where neurodivergent students receive education in music and life skills, preparing them for meaningful growth opportunities that enrich their lives and the community.
