Sanofi Foundation helps young people worldwide

The Sanofi Foundation is reinforcing its dedication to children and youth, especially those affected by serious illnesses. Through its foundation, Sanofi broadens its mission to enhance quality of life beyond medical care by assisting younger individuals confronting health, environmental, and humanitarian issues.

Frédéric Oudéa, Chairman of the Board of Directors Sanofi Foundation, stated, “The challenges facing younger generations today extend far beyond access to healthcare alone. By strengthening the focus of the Sanofi Foundation, we are reaffirming our conviction that companies have a role to play in helping create the conditions for every child and young person to thrive, contribute and look to the future with confidence.”

New Direction

The Sanofi Foundation’s renewed focus stems from the principle that illness should never define or restrict a child’s potential. In collaboration with NGOs, patient groups, medical experts, and community leaders, the Foundation creates initiatives enabling young people to learn, develop, connect with others, and engage meaningfully in society despite their circumstances.

Among these collaborations is a project with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation designed to enhance early detection of cerebral palsy in approximately 1,000 children. This initiative seeks to advance timely treatment, improve care standards, and support greater autonomy over time. Additionally, a joint effort with AIDA will provide assistance to as many as 1,600 young individuals throughout and following their hospital stays to support emotional wellness, social inclusion, and future aspirations.

Humanitarian Commitment

The Sanofi Foundation maintains its enduring dedication to emergency relief and bolstering the resilience of at-risk populations exposed to climate-driven health threats. Since launching, its humanitarian work has reached over 26 million patients across 45 nations, facilitating the delivery of 128 million treatments via 177 humanitarian contributions, totaling more than 9 million medicine packages.

The organization also endorses the World Health Organization’s objective of eradicating sleeping sickness by 2030. With an annual allocation of €15 million, the Sanofi Foundation will fund programs targeting children and adolescents while maintaining its engagement in humanitarian aid and climate adaptation efforts.

Moving forward, the Sanofi Foundation expects its initiatives to positively influence over 6 million children and young people by 2030. Its evolving priorities are set to tackle pressing global concerns related to health, environment, and society, potentially leading to better health results and expanded access to care for underserved communities.
