Youth engagement: Castle Race Series 2023 partners with health insurance firm WPA
January 31, 2023
The Castle Race Series (formerly Castle Triathlon Series) has announced WPA as the series’ Official Health Insurance Partner and Schools Roadshow Partner for the 2023 season.
The partnership aims to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle, promoting the benefits of triathlon and multisport, especially in children. WPA will work with the Castle Race Series on all UK events in the series.
WPA (Western Provident Association), based in Taunton, South West England, is a not-for-profit health insurer offering health insurance solutions to individuals, families, and companies.
The Castle Race Series offers participants the opportunity to race at castles across the UK, Ireland, and France, with over 10 years’ experience in organizing triathlon and multisport events.
WPA will attend all UK Castle Race Series events, encouraging and educating participants and spectators about the benefits of good health, an active lifestyle, as well as its insurance packages.
As the Official School’s Roadshow partner, WPA will be at the forefront of this event. The Schools Roadshow, a cross curricular event held at Hever Castle, Kent, on July 11-13, 2023, is aimed at promoting good health and a fulfilling education for Key Stage Two children.
Children have the opportunity to take part in activities such as open water swimming, transition change overs and for a few, learning to ride a bike. The event will host 24 schools across the southeast of England, with over 700 pupils attending, mainly from the state school sector.
Castle Race Series Race Director, Brian Adcock said “We are thrilled to be working with WPA for the 2023 season. Junior engagement in the sport is incredibly important to us.
“To help build triathlons for the future, it is essential that we encourage people from a young age to take part and to help break down barriers to entry where possible. We believe working with WPA for the next race season will help rebuild the foundations of junior triathlon participation that was partially lost due to the pandemic.
“Partnering with companies like WPA, that share our core beliefs and ideas, is fundamental for our future success.”
Mark Southern, WPA’s Director of Marketing & Sales, added “This is such an exciting partnership for everyone at WPA. We are thrilled to be working with the Castle Race Series to help support people up and down the country in getting fitter, challenging themselves and improving their health and wellbeing.
“Of equal importance to us is our foundation’s commitment to help promote healthy activity in children, so the decision to also support the Schools Roadshow pretty much made itself.”
